Basic types of gates for plastic injection mold

5 basic rules for good plastic part design

1, Keep Wall Thickness Uniform

2, Consider gate location, thick to thin section fill

3, Keep nominal wall thickness to a minimum

4, Radius corners

5, Draft angels, more is never bad

There are many more items to be discussed in plastic product design, such as rib design, weld lines, plastics thread design, inserts and so on. For more information, please kindly send the email to 252743075@qq.com

injection molding process for ULTEM PEI material

PEI material Applications:
Medical, Aircraft, Automotive, Automotive lighting, Telecom, molded interconnect devices, Electrical and lighting, HVAC/Fluid Handling

About the part design:
Molded-in stress in parts can be minimized by:
1, Avoiding thin walls and sharp corners
2, Avoiding large and sharp transitions in wall thickness
3, Ensuring balanced and uniform part filling
4, Properly designing ribs and corning to increase stiffness without increasing wall thickness

Injection molding Process:

Drying Parameters

Moisture content higher than 0.02% can be expected to cause appearance issues, brittle parts and an increase in the melt flow of the material. If it is unreinforced material, then you have to dry 4 hours at the temp of 300F; if it reinforced material, then you have to dry 6 hours at the temp of 300F, if it is blended material, then you have to dry 6 hours at the temp of 275.

Melt Temperature

The melt temperatures ranging from 640 to 750F are common. A melt temperature of 675 to 725°F is typical for most applications. Temperatures over 720°F may result in a color shift due to the inability of pigments in some colors to handle higher temperatures.

Engel injection molding machine for PEI special material

We have one set of 150T Engel machine for production. We can run special plastic raw material on this machine such as PEI, PPSU and so on.
